What's in the Debt Snowball Spreadsheet

Your debt-free date

Your debt-free date, months left, the interest you'll pay and the interest you save compared with paying only the minimums.

Three ways to pay it off

Snowball (smallest balance first), Avalanche (highest interest rate first, which usually costs the least interest) or your own order.

Payments that roll on

When a debt is paid off, its payment rolls into the next one automatically.

Room for 50 debts

Credit cards, store cards, car loans, student loans, personal loans, a mortgage, medical bills and more.

Extra payments

Add a bonus or a gift as an extra payment and watch your date move.

Month-by-month schedule

Every month worked out for you, covering up to 30 years.

Chart + payoff order

A chart of your balance falling to zero, and the month each debt disappears.

Built to catch mistakes

A Check column tells you exactly what a row needs, like a missing balance or a payment that doesn't cover the interest.

Three simple steps

  1. Type your debts: the real Debts tab with ten sample debts, where you type the name, type, balance, APR and minimum payment, with room for 50 debts, nine debt types and a Check column on every row
    Type your debts

The name, type, balance, APR and minimum payment for each one.

  2. Pick how to pay them off: Snowball is smallest balance first, Avalanche is highest interest rate first, or choose your own order, plus the extra each month and start month boxes on the real Dashboard
Pick how to pay them off

Snowball, Avalanche or your own order, plus any extra each month.

  3. Read your Dashboard: the real screen with numbered tags on the debt-free date, months left, total owed, interest you pay, interest saved, with minimums only, the owed over time chart and the payoff order
    Read your Dashboard

Your debt-free date, months left and the interest you save, all worked out.
