What's in the Bill Calendar Spreadsheet

Log every bill once

Each bill, subscription, debt payment and paycheck one time: the amount, how often and the first due date.

A calendar that fills itself in

Pick any month and every due day shows its total, with up to 3 bills a day by name.

Paid this month meter

A bar at the top of the calendar fills as you log payments. It counts dollars, not bills.

Paid days turn blue-gray

Log a payment and the day turns from tan to blue-gray, with a check mark next to each bill paid in full.

Every kind of repeat

Weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, quarterly, yearly or one time. A bill due on the 31st shows on the last day of shorter months.

End dates

Paid off a bill? Give it an end date and it stops showing up.

Dashboard

Due this month, paid so far, left to pay and income this month, plus what your bills cost per month and per year.

Built-in checks

Plain-language checks catch mistakes like an amount typed as text or a bill name used twice.

Set up in 3 steps

  1. The Bills tab of the bill tracker spreadsheet: log each bill once with how often it repeats and its first due date
    List your bills once

On the Bills tab: the amount, how often and the first due date.

  2. Monthly bill calendar with every due date colored by day: blue-gray paid, tan still due
    Pick the year and month

The Calendar shows every due day with its total.

  3. Before and after logging a payment: the due day on the bill calendar turns paid and the percent paid meter goes up
    Log what you pay

The calendar, the meter and the Dashboard update right away.

Watch the how-to

The 2-minute how-to video, start to finish.

Plus the free 7-page how-to PDF guide comes with your purchase.

Coming up this month

The Dashboard lists every bill coming up this month as Paid, Part paid or Due, next to your income this month.

  • Autopay at a glance: mark each bill Yes or No
  • Each line is a bill, subscription, debt or income
  • What your bills cost per month and per year, by type

  • A one-time purchase, no subscription

How you get it

  • Buy direct: right after you pay, you land on your download page with the spreadsheet and the guide.
  • On Etsy: open Purchases in a web browser and click Download Files. The Etsy phone app can't download files.
  • Open it in Excel. For Google Sheets, upload the file and choose File, Save as Google Sheets. The guide shows how.

What you need

  • Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • No macros and no add-ons

Good to know

  • In Excel the formulas are locked so a stray keystroke can't break them. In Google Sheets they aren't locked, so type only in the cream cells.
  • In Excel the Payments tab has a drop-down of your bills. In Google Sheets you type the bill name.
  • It tracks your bills. It isn't financial advice.
  • It's a digital file. Nothing is shipped.

“They are quick to respond to questions and when I inquired about wanting something a little bit different, they sent me an update the next day! Definitely recommend. It is also nice to have this as an option to use on excel desktop.”

Questions

How often can a bill repeat?

Weekly, every 2 weeks, monthly, quarterly, yearly or one time.

What about a bill due on the 31st?

It shows on the last day of shorter months.

What happens when I pay off a bill?

Give it an end date and it stops showing up.

How many bills can I add?

Room for 60 bills, subscriptions, debts and paychecks, and 300 payments.

Does the meter count bills or dollars?

Dollars. It shows how much of the month's bills are covered, and it follows the month you pick.

Does it work in Google Sheets?

How do I get it after I buy?

Buy direct and you land on your download page right after you pay, with the spreadsheet and the free how-to PDF guide. On Etsy, open Purchases in a web browser and click Download Files.

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. Watch the 2-minute how-to video on this page to see how it works.
