Readyfold Emergency Binder App

Readyfold is an emergency binder you fill in on your phone, tablet or computer. It asks, page by page, for everything your family would need in an emergency: medical facts, medicines and doctors, insurance, bank accounts and bills, passwords, contacts, important documents, your home and vehicles, and your final wishes. Then it prints a neat binder of only the pages you filled in, with a cover, a contents page, section dividers and colored side tabs.

What Readyfold does

It asks, you answer

Tap Fill it in and it opens the next page that isn't finished. Skip anything and come back any time. Pages that don't apply to you (children, pets, a business, military service) stay hidden and don't print.

15 sections, 180+ pages

Emergency Planning, Personal Information, Medical Information, Contacts, Insurance, Important Documents, Passwords & Logins, Financial Accounts, Household Expenses, Property & Assets, Vehicles, Employment, My Business, End of Life Wishes, and Extras & Notes.

The whole household

Each person gets their own personal pages: medical, insurance, passwords, final wishes.

Locked with your passcode

Your binder is encrypted on your device. Nothing is uploaded and there's no account. Nobody can reset the passcode, not even us, so write it down.

One-page emergency sheet + wallet cards

Made from what you entered: allergies, medicines, doctor, emergency contacts. Put the sheet on the fridge.

Reminders on your phone's calendar

Passport, license and insurance renewals, warranty end dates, car service, and a yearly "review our binder" day. Your calendar reminds you 2 weeks before and the day before.

Checklists included

Important documents, evacuation documents, the 6 P's of evacuation, emergency supply kit, first aid kit, vehicle emergency kit, vehicle safety and spring, summer, fall and winter home care. Tick what you have and note where it's kept.

Encrypted backup

Download a backup file that opens only with your passcode, and restore it on a new phone or computer.

Your emergency binder in 3 steps

  1. Two phones running the emergency binder app: one choosing a passcode that nobody can reset, one on the More screen with Back up, Restore a backup and Change passcode. Encrypted, nothing uploaded.
    Set it up

Type whose binder it is, tick what applies to your household and choose your passcode.

  2. Two tablets show the emergency binder app asking page by page: an Allergies page filled in for Maria with Back and Next page buttons, then her Medications page that Next page opens.
    Fill it in

Tap Fill it in: it opens the next page that isn't finished. Skip anything and come back any time.

  3. Printed emergency binder pages laid out flat: a cover, a contents page with page numbers, a Medical Information section divider and a Medications page with its colored side tab, plus close-ups.
    Print it

A neat binder of only the pages you filled in, with a cover, a contents page, section dividers and colored side tabs.

Watch the how-to

See one family's binder set up in Readyfold, start to finish: set it up, fill it in, add reminders, print it and keep it safe.

Plus the free how-to PDF guide comes with your purchase.

Print exactly what you need

Print the whole binder, your filled pages plus blank ones to finish by hand, a blank binder to fill in with a pen, or one section. Passwords stay off paper unless you want them on it: the printout says "Kept in the app".

  • Pet-sitter, babysitter and house-sitter sheets (they print the Wi-Fi password and alarm code for the sitter), and a pack for your executor

What you get, how you get it and what you need

What you get

  • Readyfold, an emergency binder app that opens in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone
  • The free how-to PDF guide with pictures, with your private app link inside
  • Your Etsy order number unlocks it once on each device (up to 3 devices)

How you get it

  • It's a digital download: nothing is shipped. After you buy on Etsy, open Purchases in a web browser and click Download Files. The Etsy phone app can't download files.
  • Open the guide PDF and tap your private app link.
  • Type your Etsy order number once to unlock Readyfold on that device. Your guide shows each step with pictures.

What you need

  • A computer, tablet or phone with a modern web browser: Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox
  • Your Etsy order number the first time you open the app on a device (up to 3 devices)
  • A printer or a print shop if you want the paper binder. A 3-ring binder and tab dividers are nice but not needed.

What it does NOT do

  • It is not legal advice and it doesn't make a will. Wills, living wills and powers of attorney follow your state's rules and need signatures and witnesses; the binder records where yours are and who to call.
  • It doesn't upload or share anything. Your family sees only what you print or hand them, so tell someone you trust where the binder is.
  • It doesn't send texts or emails, and it doesn't remind you by itself: reminders go on your phone's calendar.
  • It can't recover a forgotten passcode. Without it, the binder and its backups stay locked.
  • It doesn't sync between devices. To move it, use Back up and Restore a backup.
  • It isn't a password manager for everyday logins.

Questions

What goes in an emergency binder?

Medical facts, medicines and doctors, insurance, bank accounts and bills, passwords, contacts, important documents, your home and vehicles, and your final wishes. Readyfold asks for each one, page by page.

Is it an end of life planner too?

Yes. End of Life Wishes is one of its 15 sections, and each person gets their own final wishes pages. It is not legal advice and it doesn't make a will: the binder records where yours are and who to call.

Is my information uploaded anywhere?

No. Your binder is encrypted on your device. Nothing is uploaded and there's no account.

What if I forget my passcode?

Nobody can reset the passcode, not even us, so write it down. Without it, the binder and its backups stay locked.

Can I print it?

Yes: the whole binder, binder + blank pages, a blank binder, or one section, on US Letter, A4, A5 or Half Letter, with a cover, a contents page, section dividers and colored side tabs.

Will my passwords be on the printout?

Only if you want them there. Passwords stay off paper unless you want them on it: the printout says "Kept in the app".

Does it remind me when my passport or insurance renews?

Yes, through your phone's calendar: passport, license and insurance renewals, warranty end dates, car service, and a yearly "review our binder" day. Your calendar reminds you 2 weeks before and the day before.

Can I move it to a new phone?

Yes. Download a backup file that opens only with your passcode, and restore it on a new phone or computer. It doesn't sync between devices by itself.

How do I get it after I buy?

It's a digital download. After you buy on Etsy, open Purchases in a web browser and click Download Files, then open the guide PDF and tap your private app link.
