What's in the Handmade Pricing Calculator

True cost per material

What you paid, turned into a cost per gram, ml, inch, square inch or each.

21 units, 5 families

Weight, volume, length, area and count. It converts for you, and says UNIT MISMATCH instead of returning a wrong cost.

Product builder

One row per material, with the units converted for you.

Product pricing

Your true cost per unit, a suggested price and a check on what you charge.

Every channel on its own rules

Etsy, Shopify, Amazon Handmade, Faire wholesale, Faire first order, craft fairs, Square in person, Instagram or DM, direct cash and a spare row you can rename.

Orders with real fees

Log a sale and the channel's real fee comes off automatically, so you see what you actually kept.

Dashboard + 14 checks

Live totals, a revenue by channel chart and 14 automatic checks.

Expenses, mileage + tax set-aside

Booth fees, packaging, tools, permits and insurance, mileage at your own rate, twelve months of profit and a quarterly set-aside estimate.

  • Every rate is an editable cell with a Verified on date beside it, and the Dashboard counts the ones you haven't checked yet
  • A worked Example walks one candle from wax to final price
  • Room for 120 materials, 60 products, 600 product lines, 600 orders, 400 expenses and 200 mileage trips
  • Formulas are locked in Excel and LibreOffice, so you can't overwrite them by accident

What you get, how you get it and what you need

  • A one-time purchase, no subscription

How you get it

  • Buy direct: right after you pay, you land on your download page with the spreadsheet and the guide.
  • On Etsy: open Purchases in a web browser and click Download Files. The Etsy phone app can't download files.
  • Open it in Excel, or upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets. The guide shows each step.

What you need

  • Microsoft Excel (Windows or Mac), Google Sheets or LibreOffice Calc
  • No macros, no add-ons and no login

Good to know

  • The fee rates are published rates typed in by hand, not fetched live. Platforms change them, so check each one against your own payout statement.
  • The mileage rate is a placeholder. Set your own.
  • It's a costing and pricing tool, not tax advice.
  • Google Sheets removes the formula locks when it converts the file, and on Materials, Product Builder and Orders you type names instead of picking them from a list.
  • The numbers in the photos are sample data.
  • It's a digital download. Nothing is shipped.

Questions

Does it work in Google Sheets?

Yes. It works in Microsoft Excel (Windows and Mac), Google Sheets and LibreOffice Calc. In Google Sheets the formula locks come off and on three tabs you type names instead of picking them from a list.

Who is it for?

Candle makers, soap makers, resin and jewelry makers, vinyl and shirt printers, 3D printing shops, and anyone selling something they made themselves.

Can I buy in one unit and use another?

Yes. Within the same family (weight, volume, length, area or count) it just converts. Crossing families, like buying by the fluid ounce and pouring by the gram, needs one number from you: grams per ml, or the roll width.

Which sales channels are built in?

Etsy, Shopify, Amazon Handmade, Faire wholesale, Faire first order, craft fairs, Square in person, Instagram or DM, direct cash, and a spare row you can rename.

How much can it hold?

120 materials, 60 products, 600 product lines, 600 orders, 400 expenses and 200 mileage trips.

Is it tax advice?

No. It's a costing and pricing tool. The quarterly set-aside is an estimate.

How do I get it after I buy?

Buy direct and you land on your download page right after you pay, with the spreadsheet and the free quick start PDF guide. On Etsy, open Purchases in a web browser and click Download Files.

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. Watch the how-to video on this page to see it working.
